Hi,
when I tried to create a new publication for replication i got this error: "SQL server replication requires the actual server name to make a connection to the server...."
So I found out that even if the server was renamed the old name still was present in the settings.
I tried to run these instructions:
sp_dropserver 'old-name'
GO
sp_addserver 'new-name', 'local'
but it returned me this error message
There are still remote logins or linked logins for the server 'old-name'.
The server 'new name' already exists.
I'm scared about destrying something, I just want to fix this error.. someone can help?
