Hi,
I have installed SQL Server 2012 Express and found that the date type uses the US date notation ie mm/dd/yy but here in the UK we use the dd/mm/yy and to change that I need to change the SQL server properties, I have done this by:
Opening server properties > Advanced > and selecting British English.
Clicked OK and closed the studio.
Reopened the studio and went back into server properties in general settings : the language row shows = English (United States)
Advanced page shows British English and default full text language = 1033 (which I believe is British English)
Date type is till using american mm/dd/yy.
