Hello,
We are creating a project in vb.net winforms. In this project we need to change sql settings programmatically.
like changing login mode, enabling sql browser and enabling TCP/IP protcol for remote connection.
Client machine may have any of the sql server express versions 2005,2008,2008R2 ,2012 with instance name as SQLEXPRESS.
Previously client machine has only SQL2005 Express edition with instance name SQLEXPRESS. So we are using Microsft.sqlserver.smo.dll as reference to enable TCP/IP protocol.
We need to do the same thing which should support all the sql versions. To enable protocol we should not add reference for SMO.because we dooesnt know which version user has installed.
Could you please suggest some ways to implement enabling protocol generically which support all the versions. It will be very grateful.
Thanks in Advance.
