I'm not sure of the best place for this question. I'm using web forms but I'm not sure what's causing this issue so I'll just explain:
I have a 3rd party Excel-like component that accepts formulas. I store the formula in a database column and do some minor modifications before setting the formula in the component. My error however is being caused before this happens.
In my local log file, I pull out a value from the table and then log it. Here's what it looks like (starting with the 'IF'). This is local IIS.

On my dev server, here's the same entry in the log:
