Hi Everyone,
My manager has requested that I upgrade our version of Symantec Backup Exec 2010 to 2012. I have successfully uninstalled Backup Exec, but the SQL instance on Backup Exec will not remove.
I have followed the Microsoft resource on how to manually remove an instance of SQL, (kb/909967) but when I run "%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\ARPWrapper.exe /Remove" command and select the Backup Exec instance it
simply closes and does nothing.
The instance does not appear in add remove programs, but does appear as a functioning service in services. I have tried every way possible to remove this instance, and just want to completely remove SQL Express and reinstall, as it is preventing me from
installing Backup Exec 2012, but I cannot get rid of this instance of SQL.
The server is Windows Server 2008.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
