I use SSMS 2008 to manage a SQLExpress DB on a server.  When I first started using it to backup the DB I would right-click on the DB, select tasks, then backup.  I entered the Destination location (which was on the C-drive of the server) and I could do a full or differential backup.  After some time, the Destination started coming up blank and it won't allow me to do a differential backup any longer claiming a "current DB backup doesn't exist..", but when I click Add and navigate to the proper folder (which comes up automatically) it will allow a full backup only.
What happened and how do I fix this?
