Is it possible to export dataset and save it to disc as csv vs the "Save As" method?

Could someone help:
     I have a function that builds an Excel spread sheet (csv) from a dataset, I am able to get this to pop up the standard Microsoft IE "Save As" window and export the data to a spread sheet (all works fine).  What I would like to do is create the Excel spread sheet (csv) and actually save it to disc on the server.  Is this possible and if so how would I do it?
