select count returning null values which i dont want?

hi,

I have a country table and Models  table in my database.
The application is using a data access layer and table adaptors
I setup a Select query that returns the number of models in each  Country.
problem is it also returns 0 values and they show in the gridview when I bind the data

here is my query in the DAL of the country table
i use not null but it does not work

SELECT        CountryId, [Sort Order], CommonName,  (SELECT COUNT(CountryId) FROM Model WHERE CountryId IS NOT NULL AND Pictures=1 AND (CountryId=Country.CountryId)) AS ModelsWithImages,  ModelId                    FROM            Country ...
