check if checkboxes are checked

I'm getting some images from my db and i also attach a checkbox under every image. The checkbox gets the same ID as the image it belongs to. I want to update several recods at a time for all the images that are checked. How do i get which images (checkboxes) are checked? I never know the amount of images that are fetched.
Any ideas?
