Get all listbox items and store them in a string or session

Hi,
 
I have a listbox on my asp.net page and I would like to store the values in a string so I can use them on another page. So the string would look like 321364,231654,564865 etc.. When I try the code below it doesnt return anything?
Dim item As String = NPIListbox.Items().ToString()
