i have the following two dropdownlist:

<asp:DropDownList ID="componentddl" runat="server"
DataSourceID="ComponentsByStockCode" DataTextField="component"
DataValueField="stockcode" Width="174px" Height="19px"
Enable="true" >
</asp:DropDownList>
select a value from stockcodeddl will generate values in the componentddl
however when i insert into database use a button click,the second dropdownlist(componentddl) will always selected the first item , even if i have selected ...
