deleting row from gridview

if i put a simple asp button in gridview, and use that to delete a whole row then how it would be ?
i created a event "Delete_record" and set onClick="Delete_record", inside that i set a delete query to delete a record from database but couldn't find a way to pick that row from database, i mean that how that event would know that what to delete on call ?
