Hello,
I have to handle a scenario in my application wherein when a user views a ticket but does not perform any form actions (like clicking on save button or workflow action buttons), then I have to insert a record into the database. I don't know how to detect when a user just views and does not puch any buttons. I considered using flag in javascript/jquery and setting it initially to a value and changing it if the user pushes any of the button.s And in window.onbeforeunload event, check if the variable still had the initial value. If yes, then, do an ajax call to insert the record into the database.
Not sure if this a good way. Would there be any thread issues if I called an ajax function in unload or beforunload event?
User will be using only IE 7 and above browser. And application is ASP.Net web app in .Net 2.0.
Thanks
