Question on action="Post" or "Get" in a webform

Hi...
if i have the following in lets say the Default.aspx page..
<form action="default.aspx" method="post">   <input type="text" name="data" value="mydata" />   <input type="submit" /> </form>
does it mean that this form can only "post"  data to a server ?
can i not request data from the server , ie a GET ?
