Suppose you have a page with 6 dropdown lists plus various other input controls. Each DDL contains values 0 to 7. On page submit we want to require that the total of the values in the 6 ddls is at least 1 but no more than 7. This is easy enough with javascript,
but I would like the fail message to appear in the validation summary so it is consistent with the other validation that takes place on the page rather than a js alert. I am not sure if this can be done with a custom validator or not. Any suggestions? If it
can be done with a custom validator I would appreciate a rough outline.
