databound check box WithEvents in a repeater

I am getting "Error 59 Handles clause requires a WithEvents variable defined in the containing type or one of its base types." when I tried to set the OnCheckChanged of an
asp:CheckBox within a repeater.  I am familiar with setting up events in a gridview, but, I need each set of data to have 4 rows and found the repeater will work best.
How is this done?
