Encrypting connection string from database and web.config/app.config files.

Hi All,
 In my application we have defined connection string in web.config + in database. I need to encrypt the same using some encryption machanisam. I came across the topic "encrypting configuration file section using protected configuration" (below link). This way I can encrypt/decrypt section from configuration file using RSAProtectedConfiguration, but I am not sure how to apply the same encryption/decription machanizm for my database values!!

- How to encrypt app.config file just like web.config file. I am able to ecrypt the config file sections using following command:
aspnet_regiis -pe "connectionStrings" -app "/SampleApplication" -prov "RsaProtectedConfigurationProvider"
Is there anything similar to this for app. ...
