Editable DetailsView control inside a TabContainer does not work

I have an editable/insertable DetailsView control inside a TabContainer.
It works fine outside the TabContainer (in a plain .aspx page) but there is no response at all to Insert Button being clicked when in the TabContainer.
Am I missing something obvious?
