Hashed or Encrypted password but Clear user name?

Hi.
I was just starting with password and i have a question (well actually 2 in one)
Is it possible to have an encryption type for the password but the username to be visible in clear text in an SQL Server?Or i must be contained to only use the e-mail for checking the users?
Also another question if i may.
Ok i've managed to set the passwordFormat="Encrypted" with validation and decryption.
How can i decrypt p.e. if a user lost him/her password and send it to him/her?
Is it done automatically with the PasswordRecovery control?Does it work?
