It looks like I can have multiple applications served from one database/installation of membership services. I can see that each application is assigned an applicationID but I am not understanding how that applicationID is created.
I didn't enter that GUID value at all. I just installed membership services into the database and loaded up the ASP.Net Configuration tool from Visual Studio, next thing I know, everything was up and running.
I would like to have this same database serve all of our applications to make things easier. It looks like that's possible, but I have no idea how it will know the difference between applications. When I look at the GetApplicationID stored procedure, it
looks like it actually pulls the applicationID from the application name; however, the application name for my first application is simple a forward slash.
I have no idea how I would edit the application name/description without manually entering it into the dat ...
