always get Password incorrect or New Password invalid. New Password length minimum: 8. Non-alphanumeric characters required: 0

I always receive the above message whenever trying to change a passord.
An example: Original pwd: trainPwd1234 New pwd: crack1234.
Can someone give me an answer why this fails? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
