The server method "MethodName" failed. Status code 500

Hi,
I have a simple web service that returns a string. This web service works perfectly on my localhost.
However the problem starts when I move the web service to a remote location.
I begin to receive The server method "MethodName" failed. The status code of the error is 500. Nothing else has been said of the error.
Has anybody experience this error before?
