I am searching for a web host to host my web site. But I am confused.
Does the web host have to support SQL Express to allow Forms authentication to work? It is my understanding that ASP.net creates a sql express database that handles the authentication and then it gets compiled with the web site. I didn't think the web host needed to support Sql express to have the forms authentication work. My previous web host said that my web site would not work with them because they do not support SQL express.
If this is the case, why does microsoft create such a nice tool to authenticate users, but only have it work in a developement environment.
Please help me. I am confused. I am also looking for a recommendation for a good cheap ASP.net web host that supports SQL 2005 or SQL 2008.
