Getting problem with clearing text box

Hi all,
I am using text box control with autopostback=true and i have txt_CourseNumber_TextChanged event also,
When try to clear by click on cancel button , it is not getting clear for first click, it is getting clear for second click,
How can i clear it for first click on cancel button
