SQL Server 2008 : Invoke or BeginInvoke cannot be called on a control until the window handle has been created.

Just thought I would share my findings on this....
While installing SQL Server 2008 Express edition Service pack 1 (x64) for a Windows server 2008 R2 machine, I encountered the following error:

Invoke or BeginInvoke cannot be called on a control until the window handle has been created. Went through lots of posts reg. this earlier none of which worked. So here,s what I tried....
Right click on the setup (SQLEXPR_x64_ENU) --> Click on troubleshoot compatibility -->it takes you through a window..(i dnt remember v clearly....)-->Takes you to a page to show what changes have been made to make it compatible with your OS, finally -->click on "Start the program"
