Placing SQL Count() into a Label

I'm trying to create a summary page for my project and I need to find the count of certain records.  I'm assuming that I should use a Select statement, something like:

SELECT COUNT (*) FROM IssuesTable WHERE [ProjectNumber] = @ProjectNumber

I've been researching this for a few days now I'm getting confused on how to call this value and place it into a label.

I have a statement that states "There are LABEL number of issues for this project"

How do I fill the LABEL with the number of issues?  Or is there a better way to accomplish what I am trying to do?
