asp.net 1.1 calling a .net dll 3.5 or wcf even ?Is this possible

 
hi,
we have a 1.1 website and
was wondering if we could call a .net 3.5 dll  or WCF which would then talk to a 3.5 dll and return the result back to the 1.1 website
asp.net 1.1 ---> .net 3.5 dll or WCF --> Linq to sql ---- return result to asp.net 1.1
 
Can this be done or is there a better way?
