I've spent a lot of time working with PHP so ASP.NET (C#) is really a different way to think about solving problems, and this situation has me stumped so I throw my (poor) attempt open for help and advice. :)
I'm trying to make a quick side menu that will be driven from two tables. 1 table contains a list of 'products' and the second table contains a list of 'categories'. Both tables have a unique id column with the category table having a foreign key column pointing back to the product's table id column.
My first attempt generates an entry for each product and each category, what I'm really hoping to accomplish is have just 1 entry for the product and all the associated categories displayed under the relevant product. Here's my code. Any tips or suggestions or tutorials related to this would be really appreciated.
