Hi,
I have an encoding problem. This problem evolves around national characters like Ã?â?¦Ã?â??Ã?â?? and asian and russian characters. I have a page which takes a form post and should store the information inside a database. The problem is that I wont be creating the HTML page with the form myself, that is up to the customer, so depending on whether they save the file as UTF-8 or ISO-8859-1 the data will be stored correct or with ? or -signs.
If I debug, the request object is filled with /ufffd (i guesss its some URL encoding) characters.
If I change the web.config's globalization tag to match the HTML file's encoding then it works fine, but when a HTML-file with ISO-8859-1 posts a form to my site and the globalization is set to UTF-8 then the Request.Form is again filled with /ufffd characters (which by the way looks like a).
So the question is:
Is there a way to detect encoding of the incoming post data and then convert it to UTF-8 to save it to the d ...
