I have recently installed SQL Server Express 2008 64-bit on my Vista 64-bit machine. I am however unable to connect to the sql instance from any other machines (all of them are 32 bit OS'es) in the network.I have SQL Manager 2008 on a Win XP 32-bit machine, but it will not connect to the SQL Server. TCP/IP and Named Pipes are enabled, the firewall is turned off.Pinging the server works but when I try to connect to 1433 using telnet I get a timout error. What is my next step?In SQL Server Configuration Manager I have no entries under "SQL Server Network Configuration (32bit)" instead "Protocols for SQLEXPRESS" is listed under "SQL Server Network Configuration" - should protocols for 32 bit clients be defined separately from 64 bit clients? ...
