I am confused on whether or not SQL Server Express can be used as a real database server. I need to install SQL Server on my VPS but I can't afford the expensive costs of a full SQL Server. I just have a couple small Web sites.
Is there a way to rent a SQL Server? I have been searching for a way to rent a server from Microsoft's cloud, but I haven't found what I was looking for. I looking for something where I can purchase the SQL Server service, and have full Admin access over
it, and then pay a small monthly fee based on what I actually use. This is if I can't use the expression edition.
My only other option is to move my ASP.Net Websites to a MySQL database, and I'm not sure how well that will work.
