Can someone please outline the steps to connect to a SQL Server database (Express) from MS-Access?   Both Access and the Sql Server DB are on the same machine.

Here is what I have done which does not work!
From MS-Access on the external data tab I clicked ODBC databases,  ==> link to tables.
On the select data source dialogue box I use the Machine Data Source tab and click the NEW button.  Then I get an ODBC System DSN warning that I am not logged on as administrator and system DSNs cannot be created or modified.  I believe I am logged on as ad administrator.
The dialoge continues anyway.  I try to create new data sources. All three don't connect.  I tried using ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server, SQL Server, and SQL Server Native Client 11.0.  Help appreciated.

Thanks
