if statement

hi


i just started few weeks ago working with asp.net (the terminology is still not getting through to me)


i managed to cnnect to a sql DB and view the content with datagrid, now i am tring to do a login type of effect, where the user types their name, then if they are in the DB they get a "yes" if not a "no";


the code being


string mysql;
        mysql= "select name from kurtulafp9 where name = '"+TextBox1.Text+"'";

        if (mysql == TextBox1.Text)

            Label1.Text = "yes";
        else Label1.Text = "no";
    }


can you help me to find out why is it not working
