Process file before uploading on server

Problem Defination:
     Is it  possible to process file before uploding to server ?
Details :
      Processing of file means,
1 : first encode using any encoding method it
2 : compress file using any utility
3: then upload it .
4: file can be any format either text, image, doc, excel etc.
5: to upload file we used file uplod control of asp.net
Exmple :
              We have number of file have size more then 20mb. we want to uplode it on server after encoding and compress so file
will be secured and small in size. As result it will upload faster on server .
So i want to know, will its possible to process file before upload on server
