I want to publish my vs2008 web application to IIS and browse to it via http://localhost/vdirname. Doing so gives me 403 forbidden errors. Same for http://localhost . I have checked the following:
Everyone account has Read & Execute permissions on c:\inetpub\wwwroot and all subfolders and files
Default Web Site and Virtual Directories both have "Scripts Only" execute permissions
Anonymous browser is enabled
I ran aspnet_regiis -i just to be safe since that has worked for me in the past
I read something online about having to enable "Web Service Extensions" but I do not see a "Web Service Extensions" folder in inetmgr.
This is a brand new machine running XP Pro with the latest updates.
Please help!
