Strange anchor tags appearing:

Hi all

I've recently started using VS2008 but have found that when designing webforms I keep getting strange anchor tags appearing in amongst my html, e.g.:

 <a id="ContentArea0" />

On one webform I had around 10 of them. I've also had it happen a couple of times after adding a gridview - after exiting the column editor I find these anchor tags in amongst the column tags, causing the gridview to not render in the design view. Once I manually remove them it's fine again.

Where are these coming from?!
