Usercontrol properties not able to access in repeater in asp.net.

Hi,
I am using usercontrol in repeater & want to access properties of that usercontrol. But not able to..
I have use "find" in ItemDataBound & above the page I have declared
  private UserControl Promocode = new UserControl();
in Itemdatabound following code I am using..
  Promocode = (UserControl)e.Item.FindControl("PromoCode");
After this control goes to "LoadProductDetails"  where I want to access its properties.
I hope it is clear.
