I have a database full of valuable html content I want to share and to be available from popular search enginges like google, yahoo an bing.
Today, I can access these page via a query string from one asp.net page i wrote.
Looks Something like this:
http://mydomain.com/mypage.aspx?key=somestring_inside_my_db
However, I  understand most search engine index crawlers do not like or rank with query strings very much. True or not? Even with a site map?
Presuming it's true, is there any smart way to configure IIS or an asp.net solution to handle a 404 (page not found) so that page name is then used to query my database and generate a unique and consistent page?
So that maybe a call to non existent page like this might (transparently) return the closest page in my database.:
http://mydomain.com/somepage Go to the complete details ...
