ASP.NET 2, working with Visual Studio 2005/2008 on XP Professional SP and IE7

We have been successfully using Roles Based Authentication with Forms Authentication on several websites since ASP.NET 1.1 and Visual Studio 2003. The formula for each website is the same. The login ids and passwords are stored in one SQL table and the roles in another. Once the person?s login credentials are verified, a check is made in the global.asax (Application_AuthenticateRequest) to validate their role access to the page.
