I've been using this method to download a file from a webserver (for a month now), from many different pc's. I download the file every 5 minutes and store the number of milliseconds it takes to a table. The issue is that I just changed the sampling interval from 5 minutes to 1 minute and the download seems to be much faster (from 100 ms to around 35 ms). I can't think of any reason why this could be happening other than maybe IIS somehow adjusts how fast it would serve a request if it occurs more frequently? Any other ideas? PC's that are configured to download every 5 minutes are taking the same time and those set to every minute are somehow faster (even if they are on the same network and share a internet connection). Thanks this is driving me nuts!
