?ow to bind non-string property by binding expression

Is it possible to bind non-string property by binding expression to user control property of the same type? I have "Unable to cast object of type 'System.Int32' to type 'System.String'" exception. I have a field of int type in database table and I need to bind it to user control property of the same type. Why ASP.NET tries to cast int to string?
