Hi all,
I am currently creating a news website, where we have a number of users who login to the site and create articles which can then be viewed by everyone else.
To get around the issues of db max field lengths, we are currently storing the article text in .txt files - which are then read by the site and put into a webpage.

My knowledge on security is currently quite basic, I am aware we are able to add directory security - however how easy would it be for people to come along and attempt to hack the files?

We are also consideing SEO optimization at the moment, whether storing the data in html files makes any difference, for searchability and/or security is another concern.

 Many thanks - Rich
