Page Load Firing Twice

I have a page load firing twice in my project and can't locate the souce of the problem. I have researched this issue extensively and can't seem to locate a solution that fits.

I have a Master Page and content page and the page load in the content page is firing twice. (no code in master)
I have stripped all html out of the master and the content page and it is still firing twice. I am at a real loss here.
I have also double checked other pages in my project and they do not fire twice. In fact a page that uses the same
master page does not fire twice.
