urgent: how to make the audio appear a few milliseconds later

Hi,
im making a program for in which when a picture appear an audio will follow a few milliseconds later, say 500ms, so far i can display the picture and the audio, but the picture and the audio is appearing at the same time... does anyone has any idea on how to make the audio appear a few milliseconds later??
