How to make Html5 trigger events work in IE 8.0/9.0

Hi,
I have created code in HTML5 to trigger an event while audio autoplay starts and ends using <audio> tag oncanplay event. It works in chrome and firefox. Bt it didnt work in IE 8.0/9.0. How to make it work??
