Divide the balls one-third i.e, 000-000-000(3 sets).

First Find the Heavier set. See How..,

Take two sets, put each a side and weigh in the balance(First Time).

If any one of the two sets is heavier(if not, third set is heavier), the heavier ball must be in that set.

Take the 3 balls of the heavier set and put any 2 balls in each side of the balance(Second Time).
The Heavier ball comes down.

If two balls are equal, then the ball in your hand is the heavy one.

So, 2 weighs are enough to find the odd one
