Why will we use Silverlight as application development over ASP.Net?

Microsoft Silverlight is a web application framework that provides functionalities similar to those in Adobe Flash, integrating multimedia, graphics, animations and interactivity into a single runtime environment.
But now html5 came into existance which does not need any plugins.

So now as per my prediction asp.net mvc will rule the .net world than silver light .
