Best way to log database table transactions?

Hello Everyone!

Can anyone suggest me, the best way to log table's transactions?

Right now, I just fired a trigger for following operations INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE on a table like 'Table1' and this trigger insert a new row in another table like 'Table1_Trail' on each and every operation.
Is this a good option to log table's transactions?

Thanks in advance.

a Trigger a best way, but there is a performance hit but not major , it depends how busy is that table. But as long as it works , leave it there. its the best place.
