Horizontal role based menu

Would like to know how to have a role based menu which is horizontal applied with CSS in a portal ? Also is there a constraint of levels of sub-menus under this? I mean is it that main menu and 1 level of sub-menu which is possible or we can more than 2 levels ?

0	Yes i would like to bind menu items based on permissions user have as well it needs to be displayed horizontally... how many levels can be included I forgot to attach a view of my menu and how i want it to look..
