Also I need an offline installer set up file. so that i can burn into a DVD, so that i can keep a copy for my self if need to reinstall this software any time in future.
The link you had provided earlier takes me to online installer, I may not get a soft copy saved in my pc.
Is this below download link suits my requirements and is this a right software to start my first ASP.NET project.

Hi Dnarayan,

You can download the Visual Studio software by going to this link https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/products/visual-studio-community-vs.aspx (Copy-paste the link in browser address bar), this is the latest visual studio software available. This is all you need to start developing ASP.NET application.

Visual Studio 2010 is the older edition of visual studio and it is not suggested to use it now.
